Common or table salt, usually known just as salt, is a type of salt called sodium chloride whose chemical formula is NaCl.
There are three kinds of common salt according to its origin: sea or spring salt, which are obtained by evaporation; gem salt, which comes from halite and vegetal salt which is obtained by clustering, by boiling a gramineous plant (a method also used to obtain sugar from other gramineous plants) that grows in the Kalahari Desert.
