Elaboration
- Julienne the onions.
- In a suitable bowl place the onions and add water, sugar and margarine cut into small cubes over the onions.
- Cover them and keep them on low heat until the onions are translucent.
- Uncover them, increase the heat so that the water evaporates and caramelises the onions until they turn golden.
- Keep them warm until served.
