Modena viengar or balsamic vinegar is a type of vinegar that originates from Italy, from the Emilia-Romagna region in Italy, especially in the city of Módena. It’s a vinegar obtained from a mix of red and white wines produced from trebbiano, uniblanc malbec or barbera grapes. It stands out because of its strong slightly sweet taste and its dark colour. While industrial vinegars are obtained from aging of 4 to 5 years, more limited versions of this vinegar are aged for at least 12 years in wooden kegs.
