Apple
Apple is the fruit of the apple tree, which belongs to the Rosaceae family.
This family includes more than 2.000 species of bushes, trees and herbaceous plants that grow in temperate regions. The main European fruits – as well as the rose bush – belong to this big family. The cultivation of apples is as ancient as humanity. The apple tree is the fruit tree that has been cultivated the most around the world.
From the nutritional point of view, the apple is one of the most complete and enriching fruits in our diet. 85% of its composition is water, so it can be very refreshing and moisturising. Its sugars – mostly fructose (sugars of the fruit) and in smaller proportion glucose and sucrose – are rapidly absorbed by our organism, and they are the apple´s most abundant nutrients apart from water.
