Wakame seaweed
Wakame seaweed is original from Japan and is no doubt one of the main consumed in the West.
Its taste and texture are smooth.
Wakame seaweed is like kombu seaweed, especially when is dry. Nonetheless, when soaked its difference is more remarkable. Kombu seaweed is a thick strip and requires more cooking time while wakame seaweed only needs a few minutes soaking and it rolls out in a thin big leaf, with thick nerves in the centre.
It is generally sold dehydrated.
