Pomegranates are the infructescence, or fruit, from the pomegranate tree, which reaches up to 4 metres of height. It belongs to the Punicaceae family, a small family of trees and bushes whose fruits have prismatic and rough seeds.
The fruit has a thick scarlet or golden peel with a crimson colour on the outside and a great amount of seeds enveloped in a juicy ruby coloured pulp.
