Seasonal period: January, February, March, October, November, December

It is an animal from the Gallinaceae family that comes from South Asia. There are many pheasant species but we will refer to the common pheasant, the one found in European forests.

It is known for its green, blue and red colours and the long feathers in the tail of the males, whereas females are smaller and with a lighter brown colour. Its meat is of a fine quality and the best ones are those less than one year old. The females’ meat is tastier.

Pheasants can be farm raised too.
