Morchella mushrooms
Category
Mushrooms
Seasonal period:
March, April, May
They are edible mushrooms, formed by a white stipe that holds a spherical cap, round or ovoid, from 6 to 10 cm wide, honey or rosy yellow coloured, with a shape similar to that of a wasps’ nest.
The stipe which is also hollow, is white. Its flesh is fragile, scarce and practically odorless.
Morchellas can’t be eaten raw because of their toxicity but they are delicious if cooked well for their great taste and aroma, special for sauces and to give flavour to dishes.
