Baby squid
A decapod cephalopod mollusc whose main characteristic is that it has a muscled body and triangular fins that take up more than half its body.
They are pelagic and gregarious, and live near the coast. They live 2-5 years and can reach 60 cm, even though it is not usual to find such big specimens in our area.
They are captured in the Cantabrian sea in the summer . In the northern sea, though, in autumn and winter. They are captured by trawling of stuffed, the ones captured in the latter method being the most appreciated in our area.
They are presented fresh, frozen or preserved in the market.
