Chestnuts
Chestnut is the fruit of the chestnut tree (Castanea sativa), a tree belonging to the Fagaceae family, native from template climates and the northern hemisphere.
Chestnuts can be eaten raw, boiled, roasted or sweet. In France, chestnut cream is very popular. Another important use of the chestnut is the flour. Bread (chestnut bread), pies (pastries and pasta) and pasta can be made with it.
In order to preserve the chestnuts, these must be completely dry before removing the prickly capsule that covers them.
