      They are bigger than wild rabbits reaching up to 3 kg. and 55 cm. Their legs are longer and their ear tips are black on their backs.
They live throughout Europe, and there are two main types, the common hare and the snowshoe hare, the second one is known because it changes its fur colour in winter to achieve a white camouflage.
Hare meat is dark and tasty. The hares that have grown among aromatic herbs are more appreciated. They are known as leverets until they are 6 months old, which are the most appreciated hares due to their tender meat. They differ from adults because of their thin ears, their smooth fur and their white teeth.
