There are 3 kinds of partridge in Spain: the red partridge, which is the biggest one and is hunted in the south of the Spanish plateau; the grey or common partridge , which is located in the north of the Spanish peninsula and the white or snow partridge, hunted in the Pyrenees  since it  is a mountain bird.

Partridge is not a migratory bird. The ones that are less than a year old are known as chicks and they are the most appreciated.
